VINEYARDS
Our grapes are sourced from three different vineyards. All three have different soil and weather conditions. Here we introduce our three vineyards and explain the different growing conditions.
OUR VINEYARDS
Sparrow Vineyard
Located at our Winery, the Sparrow Vineyard is on the Golden Mile Slopes, just below the Golden Mile Bench. The cooling nighttime breeze from Mount Kobau retains the fresh acidity flavour in the grapes. The soil is stony and coarse with many different types of rocks found in this area, the vineyard has an abundance of minerals. The varieties grown here are merlot, cabernet franc, pinot gris, and Cabernet Sauvignon. These varieties were selected carefully to the soil and location the golden slopes are ideal for morning sunshine rather than afternoon sunshine, making it a cooler region than its eastern neighbor, and with the location being in Oliver it receives the amount of growing degree days is required to have ideal berries at harvest.
SUMMERLAND VINEYARD
Hoofbeat Ranch Vineyard
Located in Summerland, BC the Hoofbeat Ranch Vineyard is located on a ridge in the heart of Summerland.
