Ingredients:

  • For the Ribs:

    • 2 racks of baby back ribs
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon onion powder
    • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

    For the BBQ Sauce:

    • 1 cup ketchup
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ribs:
    • Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
    • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better tenderness.
    • In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper to create a dry rub.
    • Rub the dry rub mixture evenly over both sides of the racks of ribs.
  2. Wrap and Bake:
    • Individually wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
    • Place the foil-wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bones.
  3. Make the BBQ Sauce:
    • While the ribs are baking, prepare the BBQ sauce. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
    • Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  4. Grill or Broil:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or set your oven broiler to high.
    • Carefully unwrap the ribs and brush them generously with the BBQ sauce on both sides.
    • Grill the ribs for about 5-10 minutes per side or broil in the oven until the sauce caramelizes and forms a delicious crust.
  5. Serve:
    • Once cooked, let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing them into individual portions.
    • Serve the BBQ Pork Baby Back Ribs with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
